They do not accept responsibility: how do Hezbollah explain why they launched the war on Lebanon?

Despite the national disaster to which they led their people, Hezbollah is certain that they are the victim. But if it holds, the ceasefire may pave the way for a future settlement between Beirut and Jerusalem

In the coming days, Hassan Nasrallah's followers plan to hold a lavish funeral for him. This ceremony, which was delayed for two months or more due to the war, will not be just a funeral. Masses of his fans will follow his coffin, but no less than that, it will be a show of loyalty of the Shia public towards the one who has supported and supported them, and who has allowed them to carry their heads with pride for 40 years. Before that, the members of the tribe were, throughout the generations, the hewers of wood and the drawers of water for the Lebanese. It is true that the majority in Lebanon despises Hezbollah these days and is furious with it, as far as it has led Lebanon, but whoever thought that Naim Kassem and his gang would kneel in apology does not know Hezbollah. The day after the ceasefire finds the Shiite organization explaining to everyone why they were right, and how everyone else is wrong. As is the way of politicians who do not take responsibility for their failures, the leaders of Hizbullah formulate words of defense for themselves, which rest on two legs: they label an enemy and place the blame on him, while at the same time cultivating the image of the victim. This war, which is the most terrible in their history since the civil war, was a war of choice. Hezbollah was not forced to attack Israel but chose to do so. It went on the attack on October 8, in the midst of the worst economic crisis in Lebanon's history. All this in the service of the Palestinians.

to mobilize the command of conscience

How do they explain to the population the disaster into which they were dragged? Naim Kasem, in his series of speeches, addressed this question in detail. He claimed that Lebanon is not the aggressor but rather the defending party. It is true that she started a campaign from the north, but the war was inevitable. According to him, Israel has a big plan to change the face of the Middle East and eliminate the resistance camp. He got the idea from Netanyahu himself. The Prime Minister said in his recent speeches that Israel is currently changing the face of the Middle East. His intention was that it weakens the various factions and returns the deterrence to itself. Kasem drew a different conclusion from this. Furthermore, Kasem enlisted the dictates of conscience to his side. "Israel is committing genocide in the Strip," he accused; "So far, it has killed 45,000 people, injured 105,000 and displaced more than a million citizens from its homes. You cannot remain silent about that," Kasem said. That is why Iran, the Houthis and the Shiite forces in Iraq rushed to join the campaign. "It is an honor for us to be counted among the few who supported justice," said Kassem. Hezbollah even recorded achievements on the battlefield, which made fighting worthwhile for them. Kasem admitted that ten black days passed by in September. On the 17th, that's when the beeper attack was launched, and ten days later the IDF killed Hassan Nasrallah. "It was a painful attack," he admitted. However, according to him, within ten more days their military arm was able to recover. All the commanders who were killed or wounded were found A replacement, and the forces on the ground returned to fighting, increasing the height of the flames and even inflicting losses on the Israeli side. "The result was a legendary resistance of the resistance In Lebanon," Qassem praised his men. He claimed that they could continue like this for a long time. Qassem explained to his listeners that the military arm of Hezbollah is not a regular army. It is not its role to prevent the IDF from advancing, but to harass it and seek to undermine it. "If he enters a village, then the Mujahideen fight him in the trenches, behind the bushes and in hiding places," he continued, "Therefore, it is not important whether (Hezbollah) entered any village or not, but how many they killed and wounded and where they hit." She is like a national leader and not the head of a sectoral faction. "Our Lebanon", he calls the homeland. "The rehabilitation," he said in a huggable tone, "we will do together." On top of that, he promised to work to elect a president agreed on everything. For two years, the Lebanese have not had a president due to severe disputes over the candidate. Prime Minister Najib Mikati is also temporary, and so is his government. The Lebanese member of parliament on behalf of Hezbollah, Hassan Fadlallah, summed up Hezbollah's position on the end of the war in a few sentences this week. "The price is heavy, it's true, but a great victory was achieved," he said in an interview with the al-Mayadeen channel, "First, on the battlefield, he (the enemy) wanted to take control of southern Litani. He wanted to prevent rockets from being fired and the return of the settlers (residents of the north) by firepower. Did it succeed? He wanted to destroy Hizballah. He didn't succeed in destroying its environment either the political nature of Lebanon, and of the region. Did he succeed?". Learn from the mistakes

Crowds of Lebanese saw the polished politician making the same hollow claims, and responded with derision. Another victory like this and we are lost. The enemy failed, according to Hezbollah, but southern Lebanon was devastated. This is the meaning of the model built by Hezbollah in Lebanon. A country within a country. Their country has an independent foreign policy, its own interests and also a unique language, and many times its interests conflict with those of the mother country. So opposed, that they also lead to bloodshed. Has the promise been destroyed? Is the southern rope ragged? So what, the main thing is that we survived, and our continued existence was assured. The fragile attempt to end the war in Lebanon calmed not only millions of citizens on both sides of the border, but all the countries of the region. If the ceasefire survives, it may cause the Iranians to forgo a strong response to the Israeli attack. Everyone feared the outbreak of a regional war. Israel will have to learn from its repeated mistakes. The policy of Zebeng and Gemarno went bankrupt. It is not enough to destroy an unruly enemy. It is mandatory to dress the military operation in a political suit. Israel is not good at political initiatives. Because why who died? What if we talk to the enemy about peace, or compromise, or even who we talk to. The trouble is that we did not carry out the military maintenance of the sector either. Israel after an operation, or a round, or a war, was a sleepy and yawning nation. The enemy turned to reinforcements, in case he would be attacked again with great force, and thus we found ourselves in a more acute confrontation with him afterwards. Political order and accompanying military treatment were the need of the hour, but they were neglected. In recent years this has reached a peak. Israel not only neglected the proper treatment of its enemies, but also resorted to Jewish wars. The coming year in Lebanon invites both sides a golden opportunity. The "Committee of Five" was not established just to monitor the ceasefire. It will be chaired by a senior American officer and his French counterpart. These two powers are likely to give the opposing sides much more than a notebook in matters of grievances. The US has already announced that it will also assist in the reconstruction, and together with the UN representative on the committee, these three may provide Israel and Lebanon with a framework for far-reaching negotiations. An American proposal to discuss the regulation of the land border is already on the table. There are 13 points of contention along it. Seven of them were received in the last decade, and five are awaiting discussion. The maritime border is also completely breached and unregulated. The solution to these issues is within reach, especially in the current atmosphere in Lebanon, which does not look favorably on Hezbollah's war mongering. If the discussion of this conflict does come to fruition, a border settlement between Beirut and Jerusalem is possible. Or then we can pull out the phrase "historical agreement" from the dictionary, and change it, this time with justice.
